How to Put an End to Deep Teeth Stains

One of the very first things we notice about someone is their smile. And when we look at ourselves in the mirror, what do we do? We smile.

According to a national survey by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, 96% of adults believe an attractive smile makes a person more appealing to the opposite sex. And roughly three out of four adults think having an unattractive smile can hurt their chance for career success.

Dental technology has come a long way and has allowed cosmetic dentists to transform a person’s smile. In particular, teeth whitening has helped many people reach their goal for a whiter, brighter smile. Yet, for some, professional whitening systems don’t do enough.

Some teeth stains such as fluorosis, as well as those caused by tetracycline-based antibiotics, cause discoloration that is virtually impossible to remove. Aside from dental veneers, which is a tooth-colored shell placed over the tooth, there were no simple solutions available to repair deeply stained teeth. Professional whitening systems were unable to remove the darker color molecules, limiting the treatment’s effectiveness.

But KöR whitening changed everything.

The KöR Ultra and Ultra-T systems were specifically designed to address difficult teeth stains and have delivered some pretty exceptional results. Rather than traditional whitening systems where you purchase whitening gels and use a tray, KöR has a special protocol for people with dark staining. The protocol includes essential treatments that restore the teeth’s ability to absorb oxygen, allowing it to more effectively remove stain molecules.

KöR was designed for patients to use while sleeping. The system includes special trays that lock-out saliva and sulcular fluids – known culprits for degrading peroxide in whitening gels. The extended application allows more time to remove organic debris and convert dark color molecules to small, white molecules.

While KöR is an excellent option for most people seeking to predictably whiten teeth, for difficult teeth stains, such as tetracycline stains, the treatment is a knockout punch.

The KöR Ultra and Ultra-T Whitening System for Deep Teeth Stains

To begin your whitening journey, one of our dental assistants will take digital impressions of your teeth and send them to KöR for custom tray fabrication. Within two weeks, your trays will arrive, and the fun begins. We kickstart your program with an in-office whitening treatment. After this conditioning treatment, you will continue whitening at home for 4-6 weeks (KöR Ultra) or  6-8 weeks (KöR Ultra-T). The grand finale is another in-office whitening treatment using a more powerful whitening solution than the first. You can maintain your results with periodic at-home whitening.

Tooth staining is unique to the individual; therefore, results will vary. By working with our dentists, we can develop a plan to help you get the whitening results you’ve always wanted. For more information or to schedule an appointment to get started, give us a call at 541-388-0078.
